Action templates are communication templates that can be used as part of broadcasts or automations.
These can include different communication mediums such as email, SMS or phone.
Action templates
When you create a template you can choose the "type" of template
The type you choose will be based on how you wish to use the template.
Email- This is to be used for emails which include embedded data fields such as "first name" of the child or parent, or the level of the class. The email type can only be used in automation and with triggers. (It cannot be used for email broadcasts)
Nonautomated- Non automated is to be used for email broadcasts where you wish to include data fields such as name or level. The non-automated cannot be edited within the broadcast (send email)-
General template- A general template is not compatible with embedded data fields. (Ie. First name, class name). A general template can be used as a broadcast email as well as be edited within the broadcast page.
SMS- SMS templates are for SMS messages and can be used in automations. There is a character limit of 160 characters. NOTE- This does not include the opt-out link so we recommend that you limit characters to 140 characters or you will end up using two credits. Be careful of using data field tags in SMS as these can eat up your character quickly. For example, you may use the tag "<Recname> however your facilities full name might be "Someplace Aquatic and Leisure Centre".
HTML compatibility
All email template "types" are HTML compatibility. You cannot build HTML content within the template section however you can copy and paste HTML content that has been created elsewhere directly into the template body section.
Subject line
Don't forget to include a subject line for your email templates. You can use embedded data fields within the subject line if you require.
Disclaimer message
A disclaimer message will appear at the bottom of all broadcast emails. This will default to GreenDesk's standard disclaimer message. However, you can change this message via your "manager/admin" user login in the settings menu.
Opt-out
An opt-out link will also be included at the bottom of all email communications that allow end users to opt out of communications as they please.
